Clay Krieg and his wife Abigail Krieg founded and currently run their beautiful ceramic company, CK Ceramics, in Lubbock, Texas.

Clay was born and raised in southern Tennessee, among the pine trees and green rolling hills. His passion for creativity and art began when he was a child, and he has pursued it since. Clay received his Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in ceramics from the University of North Alabama  in 2015.

He has experience with a variety of mediums , including sculpture, painting, drawing and graphic design, but his passion is ceramics and functional pottery.

After graduation he started learning more about different methods of production while working at a ceramic growler production studio in Huntsville, AL. This allowed him to grow as a ceramic artist and helped open doors for him to work at two other pottery production companies.

After moving to Lubbock, TX in August 2019, he became a member of the Llano Clay guild and Helen Devitt Jones Clay Studio.

He and his wife, Abigail, had their first child in December 2019 and their son was recently born in January of 2022. He ultimately desires to work from home and be present with his family, and believes this business is the avenue to make that happen.

He’s passionate about family, community, and  spending as much time outside as possible. The colors of his home state and of Alabama can be seen in the glazes chosen for the mugs.

Everyone has a favorite coffee mug they use in their daily routine. Clay hopes to make unique mugs that catch your eye, feel good in your hand, and bring warmth to your day, maybe even making it onto your list of favorites.
