There’s something about fall in Middle Tennessee that makes you want to get outside. The mornings are cooler, the leaves start to change, and suddenly a Saturday spent driving out into the countryside, wandering through a pumpkin patch, or stopping for a cup of fresh apple cider sounds like a pretty good way to spend the day. So we rounded up a few of our favorite farms and fall festivals around Middle Tennessee for when you’re ready to get out and enjoy the season.
Nashville Farm Festival — Nashville, TN
A little bit of everything you want in a fall day: a huge corn maze, sunflower field, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, hayrides, live music, and plenty of games and activities for kids. They even have a river walk and a free pumpkin with admission, making this an easy choice for a full afternoon of fall fun. First weekend begins September 18th.
Breeden’s Orchard — Mount Juliet, TN
Breeden’s is a sweet spot for a slower fall day on the farm, with apples, cider, fresh donuts, a kid-friendly activity yard, seasonal events, and plenty of farm-fresh treats. Keep an eye out for their Apple Celebration, Cider Celebration, and other fall happenings throughout the season. Heads up - they’re closed on Mondays!
Walden Pumpkin Farm — Smyrna, TN
This family-run fall farm packs a lot into one visit, with a corn maze, hayrides, pumpkin activities, farm animals, a hay maze, pumpkin train, slides, swings, games, and plenty of classic fall treats. Admission to the farm itself is free, with a wristband available for the activities. Opening Sep 20, 2026!
Gentry’s Farm — Franklin, TN
A longtime Middle Tennessee favorite with a corn maze, wagon rides, farm animals, tractor playground, tire swings, barn maze, play areas, and plenty of opportunities for little ones to explore. Grab some pumpkin bread or apple cider while you're there and make a morning of it! Fall season begins September 26th.
Lucky Ladd Farms — Eagleville, TN
If your kids want ALL the fall activities, Lucky Ladd is the place. Along with the pumpkin patch and Big Foot corn maze, you'll find a petting farm and zoo, pony rides, wagon rides, giant slides, a corn bin, games, farm animals, and more.
Cedarwood Pumpkin Patch — McMinnville, TN
Cedarwood is much more than a quick pumpkin-picking stop. Their fall festival includes a corn maze, hay maze, petting zoos, pumpkin train, giant slide, pedal karts, treehouse, play areas, and plenty of classic farm fun. It’s a great one to plan as a full fall day! This years patch runs September 26, 2026-October 31, 2026.
Shuckle’s Farm — Greenbrier, TN
Come for the eight-acre corn maze and stay for all the extras! Shuckle’s has hayrides, a jumping pillow, animal corral, pumpkin games, giant slides, obstacle courses, playgrounds, and plenty of fall treats like funnel cakes, apple fritters, and hot chocolate. Open Saturdays and Sundays from September 26-October 31st!
Honeysuckle Hill Farm — Springfield, TN
With more than 30 attractions, Honeysuckle Hill is one of those places where you could easily spend the whole day. Think pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayrides, farm animals, slides, rides, zip lines, play areas, and plenty of food and treats along the way. According to their Instagram, they were named “Favorite Place to Make Memories with the Whole Family!”
Cove Creek Farm — Monteagle, TN
A beautiful option if you're looking for a little mountain air with your fall fun. Cove Creek hosts an annual Pumpkin Patch & Fall Harvest from mid-September through October, along with its year-round Play Barn and outdoor activities.
Sunset Valley Farms — Huron, TN
A little farther west, but definitely worth adding to the list if you're up for a road trip! Sunset Valley's fall festival includes an interactive corn maze, pumpkin picking, pedal cars, farm animals, giant slides, and more than 20 attractions included with admission.
Kimbro Farms — Crossville, TN
Kimbro Farms Autumn Daze brings classic fall farm fun to Crossville with its annual corn maze and activities for all ages. It's a great option for a fall day out in the Cumberland Plateau area, especially if you want something a little farther from Nashville. The fun begins September 12th!

Fall Farm FAQs
When do the pumpkin patches near Franklin open?
Most farms on this list open in the second half of September, with Gentry's Farm, Cedarwood, Shuckle's, and Honeysuckle Hill all starting September 26 this year. A few get going earlier, like Lucky Ladd on September 16 and the Nashville Fall Festival on September 18, and most run through Halloween weekend or the first days of November.
Which farm is closest to downtown Franklin?
Gentry's Farm is about three miles west of downtown on Highway 96, so it's an easy add-on to a morning in town. The Nashville Fall Festival in Bellevue is the next closest, about 30 minutes away.
Do we need to buy tickets ahead of time?
It depends on the farm. Gentry's sells tickets at the gate only, while several others sell online passes and some offer pick-a-day pricing that changes by date. Every farm's website spells this out, so a quick look before you leave the house saves a surprise at the gate.
What should we bring?
Closed-toe shoes that can get dusty, a wagon or stroller for little ones (most farms welcome them), cash for concessions just in case, and a layer for when the sun drops. Many farms are cash and card, but a few smaller stands are still cash only.
Can we bring our dog?
Usually not. Gentry's and most of the family farms ask that pets stay home, though the Nashville Fall Festival welcomes leashed dogs. Check each farm's FAQ page if your pup is part of the plan.
