How We Found Our Home on Main Street
In 2023, Joshua and Britney Arceneaux fell in love with Franklin, Tennessee. The historic downtown, the creative community, and the warm welcome from locals made it clear, this was where Flying Cow needed to plant roots outside of Texas.
After two failed attempts to secure a downtown location, they paused the search. Then in December 2024, their realtor called with news that felt almost too good: a storefront had opened up directly across from the Franklin Theatre. Months of waiting and competing offers followed, but the building owners connected with Flying Cow's story as a family business with a heart for handmade goods and community.
The doors opened quietly during Franklin's 2024 Christmas tree lighting, no grand announcement, just an unlocked door and curious locals wandering in from the cold. What was meant to be a soft start turned into a magical first night, and the Franklin chapter had officially begun.
What to Expect When You Walk In
Our Franklin store sits right on Main Street, directly across from the Franklin Theatre. You'll find our full line of handcrafted tallow skincare , from our bestselling Restore balm to Golden Tallow, baby-safe formulas, and seasonal favorites.
Every product on the shelf has been whipped, filled, and labeled by hand using ingredients sourced from small organic farms. You're welcome to sample anything , our team loves walking first-time visitors through what works best for their skin.
Beyond skincare, you'll discover handmade goods from local artisans through our A Place for the Maker collective. Ceramics, candles, textiles, and more, all made by people whose stories we're proud to share.
Downtown Franklin, Tennessee
Franklin sits 20 miles south of Nashville and serves as the county seat of Williamson County. Founded in 1799, the city has grown into one of Tennessee's most beloved small towns known for its preserved historic downtown, independent shops, and a calendar packed with community events.
Our store is in the heart of it all on Main Street. The Franklin Theatre is steps away, and you're surrounded by locally owned boutiques, restaurants, and galleries. Spring brings the Main Street Festival, fall has Pumpkin Fest, and the holiday season transforms downtown into a Victorian village for Dickens of a Christmas.
Street parking is available along Main Street and side streets. There's also a public parking garage nearby for longer visits, perfect if you want to explore the full downtown after stopping in.
Handmade Goods from Local Artisans
A Place for the Maker is our way of honoring the people behind the products. Inside our Franklin store, you'll find handcrafted goods from makers we believe in. Ceramics, textiles, artwork, and more, each with a story worth sharing.
We don't rent shelf space. We build relationships with makers, give them a budget, and purchase their work outright. Every item on our shelves has a QR code so you can connect with the maker directly, follow their work, and support them long after you leave the store.
